Tether Gold (XUAT) is a digital asset representing physical gold, with each token backed by one troy ounce of gold stored in Switzerland. It was launched by Tether, the company behind USDT, to combine digital asset utility with gold's price stability. XUAT allows users to own fractions of gold, redeem physical bars (subject to requirements and fees), or have Tether sell the gold on their behalf. It offers benefits like secure storage and price stability compared to volatile cryptocurrencies, though redemption has geographical restrictions. It's used as a store of value and for trading on exchanges, available on platforms like Gate.io and Bitfinex. The price of XUAT is linked to the market value of gold. Minimum purchase is 50 XAUt, but it can be traded on exchanges in smaller fractions.
