About Octopus Network

Octopus Network is a new multichain platform designed to support application-specific blockchains, known as Appchains. It offers flexible and affordable security leasing, seamless cross-chain interoperability, comprehensive infrastructure, and an engaged community for the Appchains. The core of the network, Octopus Relay, comprises smart contracts running on the NEAR blockchain that facilitate security leasing. An Appchain is a blockchain built on Substrate for a specific decentralized application, which can be integrated with the pallet pallet-octopus-appchain to connect to the Octopus Network. OCT token holders can stake their tokens to become validators or delegators, helping secure the Appchains by validating transactions and delegating stakes to honest validators.
