Coreum is a third-generation, layer-1 blockchain designed to serve as the fundamental infrastructure for future decentralized applications. It employs a Bonded Proof of Stake (BPoS) consensus mechanism that supports staking, non-custodial delegation, slashing, and governance. With a block time of 1.5 seconds, Coreum offers high speed, capable of processing up to 7,000 transactions per second, maintained by a federated group of nine validators rotating every four hours.
