Opus is a project created specifically to make the lives of audiophiles and artists easier. The promise of free music that one could access at any time without any hassle has not been delivered as expected. While the artists are suffering from exorbitant rates they are forced to pay to the giant platforms, the customers themselves suffer from the current monopolists putting their profits above their clients. That is why a range of artists: Carface, Behind the Beard, Bernardo, Mr Wildenfree etc. have all recognized the growing issue in the music industry and have declared their support for Opus. One of the reasons for the current situation of the market is the fact that contemporary systems simply have to use a single server – the costs of all that storage add up – Opus, seeing as how it is Ethereum-based, will never encounter such a problem, since all of the songs will be kept on a distributed ledger. This will allow the users to get the songs as cheaply and securely as possible, while the artists get their due royalties without much costs at all.
