What is Moonriver (MOVR)?
Moonriver Network's utility token is also called Moonriver (MOVR). It mirrors Moonbeam's token supply and economics but has a different distribution to meet its specific network objectives. Serving as Moonbeam's 'CanaryNet,' Moonriver is a community-driven experiment, securing its Kusama parachain slot through a significant crowdloan. Currently in Phase 3 of its 5-phase launch, Moonriver operates as a Kusama parachain with 40 active collators and two RPC endpoints. The network is transitioning to a fully decentralized Proof of Stake system. The number of active collators, selected by stake and nominations, is subject to governance.
