Celestia is a modular blockchain providing a readily available data availability (DA) layer. This lets web3 developers easily integrate a DA solution into their current network. Celestia uses Data Availability Sampling (DAS) and Namespaced Merkle Trees (NMTs). DAS allows light nodes to verify data availability without downloading full blocks. NMTs allow settlement and execution layers to function on Celestia, enabling nodes to download only relevant transactions. Celestia claims this DA layer significantly reduces transaction fees, potentially by over 100x. Major rollup frameworks like Polygon CDK, Arbitrum Orbit, OP Stack, and Starkware are natively supported.
As of now, Celestia is trading at 2.9 USD, with a 24-hour trading volume of approximately 48.67M USD. The TIA to USD price is updated in real time.
