What is Berachain (BERA)?
Berachain is a Layer 1 blockchain compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). Constructed using the Cosmos SDK, its security is ensured through an innovative Proof-of-Liquidity consensus mechanism. Berachain utilizes a unique three-token system consisting of BERA (the native gas token), HONEY (a native stablecoin), and BGT (a non-transferable governance token). Users can earn BGT by staking BERA or designated 'permissioned' tokens, allowing them to benefit from the HONEY generated by the blockchain's infrastructure as a reward for participating in governance.
