What is Stellar (XLM)?

Stellar is a decentralized protocol built on open-source code, designed for transferring digital currencies to fiat money worldwide. Its native cryptocurrency on the Stellar blockchain is called Lumens (XLM). Stellar aims to connect financial institutions with blockchain technology and offer cost-effective transactions, especially in emerging markets.
