Osmosis functions as a decentralized Automated Market Maker (AMM) built on the Cosmos network. Its primary aim is to broaden the adoption of AMMs beyond simple token swaps. In addition to being an AMM Decentralized Exchange (DEX), Osmosis offers tools for developers to create customized AMMs with liquidity pools. The platform enables cross-chain transactions through Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) technology. The native token OSMO has a maximum supply of 1 billion. Key features include the ability for users to swap, trade, and purchase tokens, set slippage tolerances, and create liquidity pools with unique parameters like bonding curves, dynamic swap fees, and multi-weighted assets.
