MimbleWimble is a scalable blockchain protocol focused on privacy, enabling transaction verification without the need to store the entire blockchain history. MWC was created in February 2019 and launched in November 2019 as a fork of Grin, with the goal of creating a more investment-friendly MimbleWimble-based coin by introducing a supply cap. It is a code fork of the GRIN project, which will distribute coins to Bitcoin holders.
