About Horizen

Horizen originally launched as ZenCash in May 2017 and rebranded as Horizen in August 2018. The project focuses on privacy and aims to address scalability and security challenges common to many blockchains. It emphasizes scalable data privacy through its distinct sidechain platform called Zendoo, which allows developers and businesses to create customized blockchains. Horizen employs a multi-tier node network architecture: Regular full nodes store all transaction data; Secure Nodes have encrypted communication to enhance security; and Super Nodes are powerful versions of Secure Nodes that support sidechains.
