About Carbon Protocol

Carbon is a decentralized layer 2 cross-chain trading protocol developed by Switcheo Labs. It's designed for trading complex financial instruments like options, bonds, and futures at scale. Built as a custom sidechain using Cosmos Tendermint Core technology (including Tendermint Core, Cosmos SDK, and IBC protocol), Carbon operates alongside Layer 1 blockchains like Ethereum, offering faster trades, lower fees, support for advanced order types, and cross-chain communication while maintaining the security of the underlying Layer 1.
