The main aim iExec is striving to achieve is improving upon all of the currently existing cloud computing services, by connecting them from single servers into the realm of nodes. Distributing the cloud between various nodes would allow the platform to grow, pulling processing power from the cloud to be used by decentralized applications. The ecosystem works in that way: all of the unused processing resources of different applications and platforms will be (thanks to the open-source software widely known as either Desktop Grip or Volunteer Computing) taken by the platform to be used by other decentralized applications. Running the applications users will be able to select a source and get all of the needed processing power on a peer-to-peer basis, from other users that participate by giving the platform some of their own processing power. So the idea is to create a framework for a free cloud computing market where anybody will be able to find the processing power they need.
