In 2015, the developers of Faceter project decided to create a public safety system based on facial identification and object recognition technology. At this stage, the Scanfac project was launched, which became the basis of the Faceter. The basic idea of the project, which is as well its aim is a wish to reduce crime in society, which can be reached through intelligent video analysis and face recognition software for businesses, governments and consumers. Currently, processing video on a global scale is too expensive, while computing power costs a lot of money. Accordingly, the price for business reaches the level of “overwhelming”. So the project solves this problem.
The platform can be used at various workplaces: corporate offices, business organisations, factories, retails and homes. Firstly, the platform is of great help for managers, as it allows to find out and eliminate cheating, widespread while filling out employee time sheet, follow presence at working position, monitor working hours and overtimes, get an accurate overlook of employment costs. It’s also a chance for retailers to track their customers’ behaviour. Faceter helps to get attendance information in a visualized way, discover the number of unique visitors and loyal clients, monitor the potential of marketing performance and always have an information about clients inside at any specific moment. It’s almost the same at enterprises: managers have a chance to follow the working process from beginning to end. The main advantage for houses is security and protection. It allows to view children and other family members’ attendance at home, track domestic movements and be alert in case there are some unfamiliar faces at home. The system is easy to operate and maintain, as there is an App, that allows to track everything online from anywhere globally. While surveillance today becomes more and more meaningful, Faceter allows users to minimize cost of computing operation, making so that small businesses and average customers could afford it easily.
